Birmingham, England - February 22, 1992 - Morceli: 2:15.26 (1000) #1, WREach hit the bull's-eye dead center, Morceli's 2:15.26 cutting more than a second off the 1000 record, while McColgan's 15:03.17 demolished the 5000 standard by nearly 11 seconds.

Morceli got a 1:12.17 tempo for the first 600 before he took over with two laps remaining. He sped past 800 in 1:47.7 and kept pulling away to slash the 2:16.4 set by Rob Druppers in 1988.
Miler Matt Yates set a British NR of 2:17.86 in 2nd to grab No.4 all-time.

A similar late kick by a Kenyan came in the mile. Noureddine Morceli broke into the lead with 500m to go. But hecouldn't dismantel the duo of William Kemei and Dieter Baumann, who were both hanging on tightly.ISTAF GP
Berlin - August 21, 1992 - Morceli: 3:49.79 (Mile) #2As Morceli and Kemei hit the final straight, the Kenyan sprinted away for a surprising 3:48.80, breaking Mike Boit's 11-year-old NT of 3:39.45 and becoming the No.7 miler of all time.
Almost a full second elapsed before Morceli hit the finish in 3:49.79, while Baumann posted a PR of 3:51.12 for 3rd.
