Assignments
Project and Exercises
has all the exercises in one spot,
divided into
modules.
Each module has a "Written" link and a "Programming" link.
The two types of assignment run in parallel, as shown on the
Syllabus and Schedule
Written assignments are to be submitted as hardcopy,
submitted on implicit
dates, as indicated in
Project and Exercises .
Programming assignments have explicit due dates
given (only) on Blackboard and are submitted
through Blackboard. From BB: Control Panel &rarr Content Areas
(Course Materials) &rarr Assignments.
Readings
You have several places to look for readings.
- There are two suggested texts in the bookstore, one on Prolog
programming and one on Scheme programming, for those like me, who prefer
hardcopy.
- Syllabus and Schedule,
There are
suggested readings for most weeks,
but that's just one choice, and
students in past years have come up with their own ideas, some of which I've
adapted. One of your goals for 173 is to get familiar with resources.

Thus there is a
redundant
Readings page
that has (I hope) all the suggested readings.

Also, the
Alternative and Extra Readings page
has a scrappy wad of lots of books and URLS, overheads and
class notes I found that
could be useful or appealing: different people like different tutorial
styles, so seek and ye shall find.

The Syllabus and Schedule page also has a "lecture notes"
column that with the overheads used for lectures. They are wordy,
and may also be used just as a reading (for both before and after, not
instead of, class).
- On Blackboard, Control Panel &rarr Content Areas (Reserves) shows
both hardcopy books on reserve in Carlson (should have most of books
mentioned in the 'Alternative and Extra Readings') and the very important
electronic reserves (readable, downloadable, printable), which are
often my choice for suggested readings for a topic.
- On Blackboard, Control Panel &rarr Content Areas (Course Materials)
has readings I considered important enough to produce myself or scan
in.

instance.
